Welcome back to Marvel Maniac, an MCU after show for a very special news announcement. The Avengers Doomsday trailer has dropped. We've been waiting for this day, Marvel fans. Avengers are assembling here on an off day for Marvel Maniac because this is warranted. We need to talk about this. There will be a bigger reaction in the future. This is just my immediate reaction to the Avengers Doomsday trailer debut. Here on 7— July 20th, 2026, we finally got it. So keep in mind, these are genuine first impressions after just 3 watches, so I'm intentionally not overanalyzing every frame just yet. My best friend Dustin sent it to me. I woke up to it, I watched it twice, and I just watched it one more time, and now I'm here to talk to you about what I think firsthand. And I'm gonna lead With this, this, this movie is gonna match as— I can't, I can't even talk. This movie is gonna be monumental, and the trailer proves it. The heroes look great together on screen. Somehow it doesn't look crowded. Somehow, somehow all the action looks completely warranted. I mean, the first thing that pops into mind is Shang-Chi versus— was it Gambit? I mean, that's awesome in, in that of itself. It's time for more Shang-Chi. Thank you. Uh, the voice of Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom. Crisp, precise, different. And hearing his voice finally for the first time and getting a tiny little peek of what he looks like on the battlefield and in general— and, you know, we don't get to see like a full standing vision of him, but we get to see him a couple times. He looks menacing. He looks like the most powerful, uh, thing anyone's ever faced in that— faced in the MCU. Because I'm going to jump right to the moment where Thor tries to bring his Stormbreaker down on him like he did Thanos. Even Thor was fighting the power of the Infinity Gauntlet in Infinity War, and he was able to bring the Stormbreaker down upon Thanos and really hurt Thanos before he could heal himself with the stones and do the blip before Thor could even process. This is a similar moment in the trailer near the end of the trailer where Thor seems to be the main character of this movie. Um, shown by this trailer. And Thor can't even budge the power of Doctor Doom. Thor is completely stopped in his tracks. Doom has one hand lifted up and he stops Thor from attacking him. And the whole trailer, aside from the amazing narration opening of Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom, we get to see him kind of like palm on the ground. He is burdened with a heavy decision. Things won't be the same. You know, unthinkable choices is something that Doctor Doom says. I got the chills. The rest of the trailer is all the Avengers assembling what looks like Avengers Tower. So Avengers Tower somehow relevant again because of the new Avengers. We get to see the Thunderbolts. We see the Fantastic Four. We see Ant-Man. We see Thor. And at the end of the trailer, we get the surprise in quotes cameo. It seems like Steve Rogers is going to play a huge part in this movie. We get to see Steve meet Thor, and Thor can't believe it. Thor's going through it. The monologue that Thor gives over this. Trailer of all the action and all the suspense. Um, wow, it's just— well, I'll tell you, just an offhand prediction after watching this trailer, and I don't say this lightheartedly, I say this with an immediate reaction. So for me, I'm probably wrong, I could be wrong. I don't know if Thor's gonna make it out of this one. I don't know if Thor will live past Avengers: Doomsday. The The trailer kind of leans towards that a little bit though. He's the one talking about the unthinkable power they're facing. He's— I mean, you never hear Thor saying, this is the hardest thing we'll ever face and it'll take a miracle for us to make this, to pull this off, whatever it is they're talking about specifically in, in relation to Doctor Doom. Even when Thanos came, Thor was like, I fought many Thanoses, even though Thanos was a big Battle for Thor and hard for him. Thor is wiser now, and Thor knows a huge threat when he sees one. And the fact that Thor is shook and talking to the greatest circle of superheroes the world has to offer, even the multiverse with the Fantastic Four standing right next to the Thunderbolts, aka the New Avengers, standing right next to Sam Wilson and his Avengers. Thor's delivering this speech. We get to see Wakanda. We get to see Shuri. We get to see them shaking hands with Ben Grimm and. Oh my God, there's so much. I mean, like, I can't just simply, um, do a frame-by-frame breakdown today because I think I might do that for Wednesdays. We're gonna be fluctuating this week at Marvel Maniac, and you could probably hear the excitement in my voice. I don't usually come on here this flustered and excited, but this is just warranted for today. I did not expect to wake up to this trailer today. I don't know about you. I know it's Comic-Con week. I bet they wanted to get ahead of a leak. You know, because it's probably going to be debuting at Comic-Con, and all people do at Comic-Con, no matter what, will get the trailer leaked online. And then the first trailer we see is this grainy, uh, horrible version of the trailer when we should experience it the way we just experienced it. I'm just looking at the countdown right now. It's, it's going down further from this moment, but 4 months, 27 days, 15 hours, 59 minutes, 57 seconds. We will be in our seats watching this all unfold, and I think the wait will be worth it. I, as a longtime Marvel fan, a longtime Avengers fan, I can hear it in Thor's monologue. I can see it in the beautiful portrayal of these heroes that we've come to know and love. Uh, the performances are there, the heroes are there, the direction is there. The Russo brothers really outdid themselves with this one. They did a good trailer. They did a good trailer. They didn't reveal anything huge. We knew there would be Doctor Doom in the mix causing trouble. We knew the Avengers would assemble somehow, and yet it all still feels that much more exciting. And oh my God, my stomach— I mean, I got like a pit of excitement in it now. I can't even hardly wait. Even the fact that Spider-Man: A Brand New Day comes out next week, it's— they needed to get this out a little bit before that because this is all anyone's going to be talking about this week. And there's no Spider-Man in the trailer. There's no Doctor Strange. We could talk about all the heroes that aren't in this, in this trailer, which makes me think offhand, you know, these are all predictions, um, no guarantees. I think this movie is going to take place over the course of like 20 to 30 hours. It's going to be like one of those single-day movies because it's called Doomsday, not Doomsweek, Doomsmonth, Doomsyear. It's Doomsday. And I think it's going to be A quick onset of action and peril and devastation approaching the Avengers, which is why Thor will be giving this speech. Maybe he meets Doctor Doom first in that interaction we see near the end of the trailer where Doctor Doom stops Thor in his tracks, and maybe that's why Thor is able to deliver this monologue that Steve Rogers would usually give to the Avengers. It seems Thor is taking the mantle of the lead of all the Avengers and team-ups. Um, whether they're new Avengers or Sam Wilson Avengers, it seems Thor is the leader here, and I love that. I think Thor's earned his stripes to be the leader of this team, and the speech he gives is motivating but terrifying. I never heard fear in Thor this way, and he looks great. And Captain America— I called him that— Steve Rogers, he's back. I know Sam Wilson is Captain America, but the fact that he's here and he took that hammer— that could be a completely fabricated shot. All these shots could be fabricated. All the backgrounds of where understanding and when these take place. The, the trailer is serving its purpose to tell you that it's a trailer, but there are definitely some— there's definitely some smoke and mirrors here, don't get me wrong. Um, I'm sure plenty, if not all, of what we're seeing in the trailer is going to be in the movie in one way or another, but it's gonna be in a different order, maybe in a different place, and spread throughout the movie in different ways. Um, Robert Downey Jr.'s— they're not, they're not wasting, uh, his care, his acting ability. What they're doing is they're trusting his acting ability. You know how much it would have been worth to put his face in this trailer? Do you know how much hype that would have anticipated? People would have go crazy if they saw the face of the Iron Man come back as a different guy and see him today. I think it's very, very telling that they didn't do it in this trailer. It shows extreme confidence in what this movie is going to deliver. If they were sick and nauseous with this movie's not going well, how are we going to put out a trailer? They would have put the face of Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom in without the mask in the trailer. I do think that they have a confident cut of this movie made. I'm sure they're still making cuts. I'm sure they're still making it. I hope we hear something about Secret Wars at Comic-Con this week, at least the fact that it's still coming out a year later. It's gonna break my heart if they push it to 2028. What I would like to hear is they're adding a second movie. I mean, a third movie. I would love for there to be a May release of Avengers Doomsday Part 2 or Secret Wars Part 1, and in December Secret Wars Part 2, because they're shooting so much and this calls for a huge story. And this is just the introduction to that story in Avengers Doomsday. Um, this is all I got for you today. This is my immediate reaction. I want to talk to you more about how Mystique becomes Yelena and they fight, and it seems like the X-Men are really pitted against the Avengers here. You don't see many of them standing together and shaking hands. It seems like those are the 2 opposite sides. So my main predictions off the bat are Thor may— is, is, is this— Thor may die. The Avengers versus the X-Men. Doctor Doom is going to be played phenomenally by our hero Robert Downey Jr., aka formerly Iron Man, aka Doctor Doom. Are you excited? [email protected]. It is a good time to be a Marvel fan. Until next time, Avengers, disassemble.

The first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday is finally here... and I couldn't wait until Wednesday.

This is my genuine, immediate reaction after watching the trailer three times. No deep frame-by-frame analysis yet—just first impressions, early predictions, and the excitement of seeing Earth's Mightiest Heroes assemble once again.

In this special bonus episode, I discuss:

• My first thoughts on Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom• Why Thor immediately stood out to me• The Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and more• What the trailer may be hinting at (and what could be misdirection)• Why this already feels like Marvel's biggest cinematic event since Avengers: Endgame

A full breakdown and deeper analysis is still to come- but today... I just wanted to experience the hype with fellow Marvel fans.

Avengers... assemble.
