Are two sides assembling for Avengers: Doomsday?

Spoilers for the new Avengers: Endgame Encore material.

Avengers: Endgame Encore may have just shown us the beginning of two opposing sides for Avengers: Doomsday.

Loki appears at Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter’s door immediately after the iconic final dance. Doctor Doom finds an isolated Bruce Banner and tells him, “I’m here to collect you.” Meanwhile, the TVA watches the multiverse begin to fall apart.

What if these scenes are connected?

In this episode of Marvel Maniac, I break down my theory that Loki may be stepping into a completely new role: deliberately bringing the Avengers together. And there’s a beautiful full-circle element to it—because Loki was the threat that originally caused Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to assemble in the first place.

Could Steve Rogers be Loki’s first stop? Why does Doom need Banner? Who could they approach next? And could Doomsday end with the biggest collection of Marvel heroes we’ve ever seen… still losing?

This is theory, not a leak. And for once, I’m very happy not knowing exactly where Marvel is taking us.
